The concert features music from the Renaissance, including the most famous songs by the English lute master John Dowland. The dawn of the Baroque is heard in a piece for two instruments and basso continuo by G.P. Cima from 1610\u2014a time when the new musical era began to take shape in Italy. A cantata by J.C. Pepusch about Corydon and the complexities of love, along with a Trio Sonata by G.Ph. Telemann strongly influenced by Polish folk music, represent the High Baroque.
