An introduction to two ongoing public art projects commissioned by the Public Art Agency Sweden and Akademiska Hus, in collaboration with Lund University.\r\n<h3>Artist Presentations<\/h3>\r\n<strong>Loulou Cherinet<\/strong> presents her work, which engages with relations, language, and social structures, with a particular focus on the presence of art in public contexts.\r\n\r\n<strong>Raqs Media Collective<\/strong> present their artistic practice, which moves between philosophy, history, and digital cultures showing how art can become a space for inquiry, storytelling, and reflection.\r\n\r\n<strong>18:30\u201319:00 Closing conversation with artists and audience<\/strong>\r\nThe moderators lead a conversation with the artists on art as a critical, social, and spatial practice. Drawing on the ongoing commissions in Lund, the discussion addresses artistic processes, collaborations, and how art takes shape in relation to site, institution, and audience. It also highlights how public art evolves through collaboration between artists, institutions, and other stakeholders.\r\n\r\nWith the campus as a point of departure, the conversation explores the role of art in shared spaces and its potential to create room for encounters, reflection, and new ways of understanding place and community.\r\n\r\nAudience questions and reflections. She studied at the Addis Ababa University School of Art and Design and the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Stockholm. Her work spans installation, storytelling, video, and painting. Her practice explores the political imaginary, how it is expressed and experienced in physical space, language, and the human body. She is a professor at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. Her work has been exhibited internationally, including biennials in S\u00e3o Paulo, Venice, Bamako, and Sydney.\r\n\r\n<strong>Raqs Media Collective<\/strong> is a New Delhi\u2013based artist collective founded in 1992 by Jeebesh Bagchi, Monica Narula, and Shuddhabrata Sengupta. Their interdisciplinary practice spans installation, film, text, and digital media, engaging with questions of time, knowledge, globalization, and urban life through philosophical and poetic approaches. They are also co-founders of the Sarai program at the Centre for the Study of Developing Societies and have participated in major international exhibitions, including the Venice Biennale.\r\n\r\n<strong>Public Art Agency Sweden<\/strong> develops contexts where contemporary art and public space meet. The agency produces art collections as well as permanent and temporary projects in public environments, engages artists in urban development processes, and shares knowledge and experience nationally and internationally. Since January 1, 2026, it is part of Moderna Museet.\r\n\r\n<strong>Akademiska Hus<\/strong> develops and manages environments for education, research, and innovation, where campuses serve as natural meeting places that foster collaboration between academia, industry, and society. Their work is based on the specific conditions of each university, with the aim of creating attractive, sustainable campus environments that integrate architecture, culture, and art.\r\n\r\n<strong>Lund University<\/strong> is an international university engaged in education, research, and collaboration with society. Closely connected to the city, it actively contributes to the development of campus environments where knowledge, culture, and public space intersect. By integrating artistic perspectives into education and research, the university promotes critical thinking, creativity, and new ways of understanding contemporary society.\r\n\r\n<strong>Skissernas Museum<\/strong> is a unique art museum in Lund dedicated to the artistic process behind public art. Part of Lund University, it houses sketches, models, and preparatory works from around the world, making visible the journey from idea to completed work.
