Kulturnatt at the museum
Welcome to a night at the museum!
Skissernas Museum is open on Kulturnatten from 17:00-22:00 with free admission. Experience the art in the museum’s exhibitions and participate in an interactive audio-visual installation that only take place at the museum this evening. Markus Nilsson from the studio Rumsklang has created an installation that you as a visitor can influence with your movements. Rumsklang is a sound studio based in Malmö that usually works with creating sound design for games and linear media. The work at Skissernas Museum is an exploration of how sound, image and movement can work together to generate art for public spaces in real time.
You can also celebrate Mexico’s Independence Day by joining a guided tour of the museum’s Mexican collection.
In the 1960s, Skissernas Museum began collecting sketches for Mexican art in order to better tell the history of mural painting during the 20th century. Today, the museum has one of Europe’s foremost collections of sketches by Mexican monumental painters such as Diego Rivera and David Alfaro Siqueiros.
