TINGO – The quartet from the end of the world
TINGO is an acoustic Jazz/Folk quartet digging through the depths of nordic folk musictreasures, and combining them with jazz improvisation. The orchestra is a part of a new nordic tendency. With a jazz vibe they bring new life to oldfolk melodies and revitalize tradition. This is the concept of TINGO and their album debut: A graceful game of mixing the genres, with tender care for the northern melodies. Original compositions by the band members stand side-by-side with the folk-tunes – as newadditions to ‘the great book of songs’. TINGO’s debut album “Kvartetten fra verdens ende” was released on the record label GODanish Folk in the spring of 2023 and has been well received by both folk and jazz reviewers.
